The book im reading in class nothing but the truth has more then one point of view. It has first person where the main character (Philip Maloy) tells the story. It also has third person point of view where the narator knows every thing about the story already.

The point of view is a mix between 1st and 3ed persn point of view. Phillip is talking about him self but there is also a narrator. It effects my reading because it makes it harder to understand because there is more that you have to comprehend. If i was only one point of view it would be essyer to understand.

There really is no point of view in the story. It lists a bunch of conversations and does not narrorate anything all it does is give the information to break down the key conflicts in the story.

The point of view of the book "Nothing But the Truth" is a mix between 1st and 3rd person. It makes it harder to read because it switches around so much and theres so many people talking in every chapter. If it was 1st person the story wouldn't make sense because you would only get on side of the story. If it was 3rd person they story wouldnt really make a lot of sense because there would be two sides but no moral.

the book we are reading is called nothin but the truth. The point of the story is a kid named philip malloy he gets sent to the dr. ballenie the principle for humming the star spangled banner. And he was sent because it was supposed to be a moment of silence. He gets suspended for 2 days. If there was a different point of view he would of been not been suspended at all. He would of gotten a talk with the principle. joey per 3

The point of view is first person and third person. First person is when the person in the story is talking about themselves. And third person is the narrator. It affects my reading in the book because there are always two sides of the story in a problem. If there was a different point of view then the story would be different because its not coming from the person who was in it.

It is in 3rd person omniscient, and this affects my reading and understanding of the characters because right off, it tells me about some peoples lives and what they did and how they feel about certain things. If it was in a different point of view, I probably would not know certain things or characteristics about different people depending on what point of view it was.

If the author had wrote this story in first person, from the main characters point of view, I think everything would be glim and angry, because the main character is just that. With third person I can know how the child feels that was kidnapped from the other tribe. That is why third person is a better point of view for this story.

The book I'm reading is, The Rescue, by Nicholas Sparks.
My book is written in mostly third person point of view. I know this beacuse you always know the two main characters' (Taylor and Denise) thoughts. Sometimes though the story switches around, and the point of view will change to first person, telling it from only one person's point of view.

In class we are reading the book "Things Fall Apart". The point of view of this novel is 3rd person. With this point of view we know eveything that is going on instead of just knowing the thoughts of one character. If the point of view was first person, it would change the reading because we would only know the story through one person's eyes. I think that third person was the best point of view for this story.

The book I'm reading is, Burned, By: Ellen Hopkins. The point of view of my story is first person because it's told through the view of Pattyn, a Mormon girl whose life is turned upside down when she discovers boys. The book I'm reading is My Sisters Keeper, by Jodi Piccoult. This book is written in both first person, and third person. I know this because all of Jodi Piccoults books switch character views so frequently, it's hard to keep up with. The book changes from Anna's view, to Kate's, then to Anna's brother, and also to her parents, so it changes rapidly.

Mrs.Fry has not assigned reading logs to our class yet, so this is on my independent book.

My book "Paint It Black," by Janet Fitch, is in first person. While reading I learn a lot about the main charcter, Josie. It helps me understand her more, and lets me see into her. If this book was in third person omniscient I would know more about why her boyfriend killed himself, and I would be able to understand all the other charcters. I think the book would be less interesting, and it wouldn't have as much emotion.

The book "Things Fall Apart" uses third person omniscient as the point of view. This affects my understanding of the characters because it allows me to fully understand what the characters are thinking and what they feel about the plot, or whats occuring in the story. If the book was written in a different point of view then we would not be informed on some events that only occur with some characters and the reader would get really confused. I personally think that this is a great point of view because you find out what the characters are thinking.

The book we are starting to read in class is called "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe. This novel is written in third person. Third person means that it is told by an outside perspective, but the character they focus on is Okonkwo. This helps me understand the story more by showing many people thoughts rather then just one. This story would be greatly different if it was told from another point of view because you would have a limited amount of information of what is going on in the novel.

The point of view for Things Fall Apart is third person omniscient. This means that the narrator is all-knowing and the narrator uses words like “he,” “she” and “they” instead of having the characters tell the story themselves. The story is often told in the past tense so the author doesn’t really have a need to use character dialogue. This point of view changes how we view the story and the characters. For example, if it were told in first person, it would most likely be told from Okonkwo’s point of view and then we have almost no insight into the other characters thoughts/feelings about topics until Okonkwo himself finds out.

My classroom novel hasn't been assigned yet, so I will talk about Wicked, a book I have just finished.

Wicked is a murder mystery, filled with gossip. The story tells about four glamorous girls and other people in their community reacting to the murder. It is told by an omniscient narrator who switches every chapter to a different girl. The way that the author does that really builds suspense because after I have read a chapter about one of the girls, I want to know what happens to her after that. But before I can do that, I have to finish reading about the other three girls! It's great though, because it keeps me turning pages. Also, it lets me know why the girls act the way that they do and what ALL of them are thinking, instead of just one. Knowing what each and every person is thinking gives me clues about the murder, and also the relationships within the story. Without the narrator being omniscient, I would be very confused and wouldn't know half of what I do about the past and present lives of these characters. I love the way that the other narrated this book.

The point of view of our classroom novel Things fall Apart is third person omniscient. This affects our understanding about the characters because you know everything on one person. The main character is Okonkwo and the book tells us everything about him. All of his accomplishment, his life, everything he has gone through. If the point of view was first or second person the book would be completely different. We wouldn’t know Okonkwo side of the story and if the book is told by someone else it would be bias.

The story the Masque of the Red Death is told from 3rd person. This affects my reading of the book because I know about every character and what everyone is thinking in the palace This helps me with the understanding of the characters because from the info given I can sort of know the personalities of all the partiers. If it was told from a different point of view then I would know that Prince Prospero was planning on leaving the palace and let everyone inside it die. Also, I would only know of the things that he saw, not what other people saw.

The book we are reading in class right now is called Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. This story is told in third person because it is told by a narrator and we do not yet know if this narrator is all knowing or if they are focusing on one major character. This gives us a different view of the characters in the story because it is not one character describing themselves or revealing their opinions about the other characters. If this story was told from a different point of view, then we would only know the views that may be biast from one character in the story. We would not have background information, but we would know the secret thoughts of another character.

The point of view, from the book “Things fall apart” is third person omniscient . the author often times uses “He” and “she” in the book. The story is told from Okonkwo’s point of view at the beginning. This helps the reader to understand the daily customs of the Ibo’s, as well as the celebrations of life. Third person also gives the reader insight into all of the charecters lives, helping to explain whats going on; which helps the reader to understand the cultures and traditions of the Ibo.

The point of view of Things Fall Apart is third- person omniscient. This helps me to understand the character Okonkwo because I can hear what he is thinking therefore I know what to expect from him and I can also hear what some of the other characters are feeling also. Another example would be when Ikemefuna was brought over from the other town you knew how sad he felt to be leaving his mother and his three year old sister and why he was scared because he didn’t know what was going on or why he was leaving. If the point of view was different say in first person you would probably only know the thoughts and experiences of Okonkwo and that would just be biased becasue people could see things differently than Okonkwo. For example the different points of view with the Three Little Pigs, you have the wolf and the pig's persepctive on things and you aren't really sure what is true because each side of the story is different and that may have happened in the story if it was just first person.

He knows how they feel and what they're thinking. This affects my reading of the book because it makes it more understanding of it. I like knowing what everybody's thinking in the story so third-person omniscient makes it easier. If it wasn't told by third-person omniscient then you wouldn't be able to know what everybody else is thinking. It affects my understading of the characters because I can hear what they're thinking and understand it. I get all sides of the story instead of just half or part of it. If they're was a different point of view I would only be hearing what the main character was thinking. When it was explaining how the main character's father lived his life, I wouldn't have been able to know what he was thinking about everything if it was first person. All I'd be able to know is what the main character thought.

I agree with Ben, because the way the story is written, the narator speaks as though he is watching the characters of the story.

I agree with Mary Anne. The point of view does affect the person’s perspective. I also agree that you know the whole story and not just one side of it. If it was in first person like when they were talking about the tribes and the trouble that was occurring between them like when the girl died, you would only know one side of the story

To Anabelle,

I tottally agree with what you said about the books Point of view. I also agre that this is a major thing in the book and that it helps you understand the book more because of it. I liked how you put that if it were first person all the charachters would be angry and glim.

I agree with Alex A. because she thinks the novel is third person omniscient. Also I with her because it affects her because you don't get to know certain feelings a character would have. In addition if it was in a different point of view you wouldn't the the whole story.

I agree with annabelle b. because , I think that it would also affect the reasding if it was not third person omniscent.I think that because we know the feelings of more than one person and if we didnt it wouod change the way i read the book.

I agree with Marena. The book is third person and it would be completely different if it was first person. In first person we could see only the thoughts of one character. We only know what they know. In third person the narrator is telling the story and goes more in depth. You have more information. Me personally I enjoy first person over third because you only have to focus on one person. Their thoughts and feelings. Less things to think about.

I agree with you that if the author had written this story in first person point of view, the novel would be very negative. With third person point of view, the story has more substance because the thoughts and feelings of more characters are revealed. This is especially helpful when you want to see different sides of stories or situations in a book. It is easier for me to read and understand a novel if I can know all of the characters thoughts or points of view.
